Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
one day when I was putting the finishing touches on this tune a bunch of feral cats moved into the laneway behind my house. They sort of disrupted the local wildlife population, replacing the raccoons as the dominant force. In my mind they became 'the laneway cats'...and the organ snarl at the first was already down before the cats arrived, so I thought it was fitting. :)

Them cats are right up my alley.
